    WEP

PEFENAP’s Women Empowerment Project is dedicated to advancing gender equality by strengthening the social, economic, and leadership capacities of women and girls within communities. The project addresses the structural barriers that limit women’s participation in decision-making, economic opportunities, and access to justice, while promoting equal rights and dignity for all. It is rooted in the belief that empowered women are key drivers of peaceful, resilient, and thriving communities.

Through targeted training, mentorship, and advocacy programmes, the project equips women with practical skills in leadership, entrepreneurship, civic participation, and rights awareness. PEFENAP also facilitates safe spaces where women can share experiences, build confidence, and access information on legal rights, health, and economic opportunities. These platforms help to strengthen solidarity and collective action among women at grassroots level.

In addition, the project works closely with community leaders, local structures, and relevant institutions to challenge harmful cultural norms and promote inclusive participation of women in governance and development processes. By connecting women to resources, networks, and decision-making platforms, PEFENAP is fostering a more equitable society where women are not only beneficiaries of development but active leaders and change-makers in their communities.
